UCPath’s PathPal chatbot helps employees and managers quickly find guidance for self-service tasks.

UCPath has launched PathPal, a new employee support chatbot designed to help UC employees and managers more easily navigate common UCPath self-service tasks. The tool became available systemwide on March 16, 2026, and is accessible 24/7 directly within UCPath.

PathPal helps employees and managers quickly find information and guidance for common UCPath self-service tasks. The chatbot provides step-by-step guidance and links to official UCPath job aids, making it easier to locate the resources needed to complete common activities in UCPath.

This initial release represents Phase 1 of PathPal, focused on helping users navigate common “how-to” questions using approved UCPath job aid resources.

How to Use PathPal

  • PathPal is available directly within the UCPath portal on all pages and can be relocated within your screen
  • Before beginning a conversation, users will be asked to acknowledge the PathPal Terms of Use with each new UCPath session
  • Users may ask questions related to common UCPath self-service tasks
  • PathPal responses include guidance and links to official UCPath job aids and resources
  • Users may escalate to live UCPath support if they need additional assistance

Chat Features

  • Conversation history will remain visible across UCPath sessions until the user exits and clears the conversation
  • Users can provide feedback on responses using the thumbs up or thumbs down feature to indicate whether the response was helpful
  • UCPath will actively monitor chatbot performance and response accuracy to support continuous improvements
