UCPath Security Enhancements

UCPath Security Enhancements

Learn about new UCPath security measures and what employees need to know to maintain access and protect their account information.

The UCPath Center recently implemented security enhancements to better protect employee accounts and help identify potentially high-risk activity.

What’s changed

  • One-Time Passcode Security Check: After signing into UCPath, some pages now require a one-time passcode with each new login session:
    • Direct Deposit
    • Personal Contact Details
    • Security Question Setup
  • Security questions: Security questions remain in place for access to all other sensitive UCPath pages. Security responses can no longer be viewed or unmasked. Employees can reset their responses at any time by entering and saving new answers.
  • Direct deposit notifications: When direct deposit information is changed, notifications will be sent to all email addresses on file. Employees who receive a notification about a change they did not make should contact UCPath immediately.
  • Direct deposit notices in UCPath: Employees who change their direct deposit information will see a notice in UCPath for 30 days. The notice cannot be dismissed, providing additional visibility into recent account activity.

What employees need to know

UCPath sent a targeted email to employees who do not have a personal email address or personal phone number on file, asking them to add their contact information before the one-time passcode security checks go into effect. Employees without a personal phone or personal email address on file will be unable to complete the one-time passcode step. Employees who need assistance will have to contact UCPath for additional support.

UCPath will never ask you to share your one-time passcode by phone, email, or text.
