The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released a new Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) on July 17, 2017.
Minor changes were made to the Lists of Acceptable Documents in Section C on page 4, and to the form instructions. No changes were made to Section 1 (Employee Information and Attestation), Section 2 (Employer or Authorized Representative Review and Verification), or to Section 3 (Reverification and Rehires). A link to the new Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) is available from the Controller’s Office website. You may use the new form now or continue using the old form (revision date 11/14/16). Use of the new form (revision date 07/17/17) is mandatory beginning on September 18, 2017.
