As announced in the September 2017 Controller’s Office Newsletter, system enhancements were implemented to allow for better management of sponsored projects. Specifically, these updates allow us to better account for program income and for project or task order specific periods. We are happy to report that we successfully implemented both updates on September 15 as scheduled and these features are available for use.
As a reminder, these changes will not be automatically applied to existing projects. Please submit a Sponsored Project Award Setup Change Request Form to update existing program income projects and to update projects where specific research or task orders do not align with the primary award performance periods. This form, as well as the Accounting for Program Income job aid, have been updated to reflect these changes and are available on the Controller’s Office Website.
