Effective September 1, 2019, the research space at China Basin Landing (CBL) will be treated as on-campus for purposes of Facilities and Administrative (F&A) cost recovery.
As a result, UCSF will cease recharging grants and contracts located at CBL for rent and operations, and the on-campus F&A rate will be applied. All grants should be reviewed for re-budgeting opportunities. For grants without re-budgeting options or where the sponsor denies the re-budgeting, the differential F&A charge will be refunded at year-end. New grants approved after September 1, 2019, should be charged the on-campus F&A rate.
For all awards located at China Basin, the Office of Sponsored Research and CGA will be contacting your award RSA to discuss the reclassification of F&A for each grant. If you have not been contacted by September 15, please reach out to [email protected] to ensure the location on your grant is properly recorded.
