Shannon Turner Named Associate Vice Chancellor and Controller

The Controller’s Office is pleased to announce the appointment of Shannon Turner to Associate Vice Chancellor and Controller. Shannon joined UCSF in 2013 and served as Assistant Controller for Accounting and Reporting for four years, prior to assuming the role of Interim Controller last fall.

As Assistant Controller for Accounting and Reporting, Shannon was responsible for managing all aspects of UCSF financial activity, including financial reporting to both UCSF and University of California Office of the President. Shannon has led strategic initiatives impacting UCSF’s accounting practices, including the development and rollout of the campus-wide General Ledger Verification Tool, the streamlining of account reconciliation using Blackline matching, and the optimization of UCSF’s chart of accounts upon the completion of the Finance3 initiative. Prior to joining UCSF in 2013, Shannon held various financial positions at FedEx, including Manager of International Accounting, and worked as a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young.

Shannon looks forward to engaging with colleagues in her new capacity and to working in partnership with faculty, staff, and students to enhance the financial stewardship of UCSF.
