The next biannual compensatory time payout will be issued as a separate off-cycle payment on October 15, 2025. The payout will be calculated based on each employee’s CTO/CTU balance as of September 27, 2025.
- Employees represented by the California Nurses Association (CNA) will be paid down to 36 hours.
- Shift pay associated with the Comp Time Holiday (CTU) portion of the payout will be included in the October 22, 2025, on-cycle pay date.
About CTO/CTU Payouts
Accumulated but unused CTO is paid out to teammates twice per year in April and October. At the time of CTO payout, all sums in the employee's bank will be paid in accordance with the operating collective bargaining agreement(s).
- Teammates represented by the California Nurses Association (CNA) will maintain a bank of 36 hours when electing CTO.
- Compensatory Time procedures for the Police Officers Unit (PA) follows a separate process as outlined in the bargaining agreement.
With the implementation of MyTime, approved CTO/CTU leave requests for future-dated absences beyond September 27, 2025, will not preserve those hours in the leave bank. CTO/CTU hours not used as of September 27, 2025, will be included as part of the payout.
- Any approved time off where the employee had planned to use CTO beyond the payout date may still be taken, as long as the time off was approved prior to the date of CTO paydown or payout.
- However, under such circumstances, if the employee no longer has enough CTO balance, they must use available vacation time or other accrued leave as appropriate, or choose to take unpaid leave.
