PAMDash Enhancements: September 2026
Explore the quarterly PAMDash enhancements to make extramural funding metrics easier to access and understand.
The Contracts and Grants Accounting (CGA) Project and Data team added new dashboard pages to automate monthly reporting on NIH RePORTER Award activities and metrics, in collaboration with the Vice Chancellor of Research and the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer. These new dashboards include data extracted monthly from the NIH RePORTER database. Currently, the NIH award notifications are being reviewed by leadership pertaining to those in the US and for the NIH agency only.
New Dashboard Pages

New Page Filters for the NIH Award Notifications
The following page filters are available to users across all three interconnected NIH dashboards. Filter selections limit the values available in related filters. For example, selecting UCSF as the organization limits the School/Main Dept, Department, and Contact PI values to UCSF-related options.
- View By: Display charts by Calendar Year, UCSF Fiscal Year, or Federal Fiscal Year.
- Year: Years depend on the View By filter. Data is available from July 1, 2021, through the latest NIH refresh date shown at the bottom left, based on the date range of the award notice date.
- Month: Months depend on the View By filter. For an accurate fiscal year YTD comparison across years, deselect the current or latest month if it is incomplete. This ensures that all fiscal years are compared through the same completed month.
- Application Type: Filter by NIH application type(s).
- NIH Activity Code: Filter by NIH activity codes or funding mechanisms.
- MYF: Award notifications (projects) meeting all criteria:
- Application Type = New or Renewal
- Project Start = Budget Begin and Project End = Budget End
- Full funding is provided upfront from one fiscal-year appropriation, with Award Amount = FY Direct Cost + FY Indirect Cost
- Project period exceeds one year
- R01 Equivalent: Filter to select the R01-equivalent activity codes, such as R01, DP1, DP2, DP5, R35, R37, R56, RF1, RL1, U01.
- RPG: DP1-DP5, P01, PM1, PN1, R00, R01, R03, R15, R16, R21-R23, R29, R33-R37, R50, R55, R56, R61, RC1-RC4, RF1, RL1, RL2, RL9, RM1, SI2, U01, U19, U34, U3R, UA5, UC1-UC4, UC7, UF1, UG3, UH2, UH3, UH5, UM1, UM2.
- CFDA: Filter by CFDA/ALN number(s).
- Organization: Filter by organization.
- School/Main Dept: Filter by school/main department.
- Department: Filter by UCSF department.
- Contact PI: Filter by main Contact PI.
- UCSF Only: Filter to select one of the following:
- All = Nationwide, including UCSF
- NON-UCSF = Nationwide, excluding UCSF
- UCSF = UCSF only
