UCSF Equipment Custodian Certification

As an Equipment Custodian or custodial delegate at UCSF, completing this online certification is mandatory before your role can be established in PeopleSoft Asset Management.

This training discusses the responsibilities of your role as an Equipment Custodian and provides links to other resources available to help you.

Inventorial equipment is defined as free-standing, non-expendable equipment with a useful life of over one year and acquired at a cost of $5,000 or more (including sales tax, freight, and installation needed to enable operability). The designated Equipment Custodian oversees the inventorial equipment assigned to the 4-digit custody code(s) for which they are responsible.

Duration: 20-30 minutes

This training is:

  • Required for all UCSF Equipment Custodians upon hire.
  • Strongly Recommended for Finance Managers who make equipment purchases.

This is a Certification Course

Completion of this course certifies the assigned equipment custodian for one year. As long as you are assigned assets to oversee, you must recertify in the UC Learning Center annually.
