Generating Schedules in MyTime Advanced Scheduling

This guide outlines the steps necessary for managers in MyTime Advanced Scheduling departments to run the Schedule Generator to create open shifts or automated schedules and provides an overview of the filter options available to generate schedules for specific groups or using a specific strategy.

Generating Schedules

  1. Select the icon for the main menu in the top-left corner.

  2. Select Schedule then Schedule Planner in the menu.

  3. In the Schedule Planner, select View By > Employee, Schedule Group, or Employment Terms.

  4. Use the calendar icon to choose the Current Schedule Period for which you want to generate open shifts.

  5. Then use the Location & Hyperfinds selector to choose the business structure location you would like to generate schedules for. This can be a department, cost center or job. In order to run the Schedule Generator, you must select a Location. If you have a Hyperfind selected, the Generate Schedule button will be grayed out and you will not be able to run the Schedule Generator.

  6. To make sure that the schedule is updated, select Save or Refresh.

  7. Select Generate Schedule.

  8. In the Generate Schedule slider, confirm or select the Start Date and End Date of the date range for which you want to generate a schedule.

  9. Select a Strategy from the drop-down list. The strategy is the department and job that the open shifts are created for.

  10. Select Start to initiate processing.

  11. When the Schedule Generator has finished processing, a message appears in the slider stating that it has been successfully completed. Select Close.

  12. Review the schedule to ensure the open or assigned shifts you expect have been created. If the total open shifts count is zero, it is likely that the schedule engine has not finished running. Select Refresh to populate the generated shifts.
