How to Apply Shift Segment Tags in MyTime Advanced Scheduling

Managers can use segment tags to identify a shift segment when an employee or shift has a specific responsibility or characteristic. The Segment Tag Quick Action allows managers to apply the same segment tag to multiple assigned or open shifts quickly. Segment tags can be used to show that a shift is an on call or break nurse shift.

This guide is intended for managers in departments using MyTime Advanced Scheduling and provides step-by-step instructions on how to apply segment tags to shifts in the schedule.

How to Use the Segment Tag Quick Action in the Schedule

  1. From the Home Page, open the Main Menu in the top left corner of the screen.
  2. In the Main Menu, expand the Schedule header and select AS Schedule Planner.

  3. In the schedule, select Quick Actions to open the Quick Actions toolbar.

  4. Select Segment Tag, then select the applicable segment tag to apply to one or more shift segments.

  5. Select the shifts in the schedule that you need to update with the segment tag.

  6. Select Save.

Be aware that the segment tag is applied to all segments in the selected shifts, except breaks. If there is a Work Rule associated with the segment tag, it overwrites the Work Rule for the shift. You can make manual changes to the segment tags in the Edit Shift slider.
