Visual cues provide charge nurses efficiency in distributing patient and task assignments to available staff members. Patient color shading indicates workload levels. This information can be useful for deciding the best distribution of assignments.
In the system, color coding is as follows:
- Green represents a lower-acuity patient
- Yellow indicates an average-acuity patient
- Orange indicates a higher-acuity patient
- Pink indicates an extreme-acuity patient.
A No Licensed Caregiver alert to the right of the patient's name indicates that the patient has not been assigned to a licensed caregiver.
The Workload shading box to the left of a caregiver's name indicates their relative assignment load. The colors codes are:
- Green for lower-than-average workload
- Yellow for average workload
- Orange for higher-than-average workload
