The Scratch Pad is a tool that allows charge nurses or nurse managers to evaluate different staffing models for how close they work with their unit's budget or care model targets, given various staffing patterns.
Charge nurses or nurse managers can use the Scratch Pad on the Location page to verify that the number of staff for each role scheduled for a shift is sufficient for the expected patient load.
If the charge nurse or nurse manager changes the number of staff and saves the change, the system generates a Staffing Variance Request.
