Inquiry Reports: Award Information

The Award ID is a unique seven-character code (beginning with the letter “A” followed by six numbers) that is assigned systematically by Contracts and Grants Accounting in the Research Administration System (RAS) after a contract or grant has been fully executed between the sponsor and UCSF.

New Award IDs are most often created for existing awards when the billing type changes (cost reimbursable, fixed price) or in cases where the federal government has changed the payment mechanism.
