Beginning January 1, 2023, non-exempt employees of the University of California who provide direct patient care or support direct patient care in a general acute care hospital, clinic, or public health setting qualify for new missed meal and missed break rules under Senate Bill 1334 (SB 1334). In coordination with HR Labor and Employee Relations, Huntington Business Systems (HBS) has been modified to accommodate the new SB 1334 rules.
