On July 28, PIs, Program Managers and RSAs were notified by email that sponsored award activity for June 2021 was loaded in the Award Verification Tool and is ready for review and verification. The current deadline to verify sponsored awards with current statuses of “Due This Month” and “Past Due” is 10 p.m. on August 15.
Please note:
- The Payroll Summary Report will not display June data until final year-end close processing is complete; the target date for June Payroll Summary Report data is August 5.
- Due to year-end processing activities, the verification periods for June and July data are shorter. Please review additional key dates on the Award Verification Tool System Information page and plan accordingly.
Award Verification Tool Updates
The following updates to the Award Verification Tool were released in July.
- You can now connect to the Award Verification Tool using UCSF’s VPN Web Portal.
- The VPN Web Portal is now available as an alternative connection method for those working at affiliate locations with restrictions on installing UCSF’s Pulse Secure VPN software.
- If you need help connecting to the VPN Web Portal, visit https://it.ucsf.edu/how-to/vpn-web-portal or contact the IT Service Desk at 415-514-4100.
- The Award Verification Tool now displays project nicknames.
- When sponsored project nicknames are entered into the Research Administration System (RAS), the Award Verification Tool displays the nickname instead of the project description.
- The Tool also displays nicknames for non-sponsored projects when they are entered in UCSF’s PeopleSoft Financial System.
As a reminder, the Contracts and Grants Accounting Compliance Unit is now enforcing the escalation procedure for past-due award verifications. Please review and verify awards in a timely manner to avoid being contacted.
