Responding to PCI Security Incidents

To safeguard UCSF’s reputation and protect our patients, guests, and students from theft and fraud, credit card handlers who become aware of a credit card related security incident should take these immediate actions.

  1. Write down the details of what happened.
  2. Report what you know to the UCSF IT Service Desk by calling 415-514-4100 (4-4100). Clearly state that “credit card data” is involved.
  3. Share the report with your Merchant Coordinator, manager or supervisor, and UCSF Merchant Services.

UCSF Merchant Services has created a new PCI Security Incident Response flyer to help raise awareness about credit card security. To request a copy for distribution or if you have questions, contact UCSF Merchant Services at [email protected].
