The Controller’s Office is pleased to announce the release of a revised UCPath Funding Entry training course in the UC Learning Center. The redesigned course for Funding Entry Initiators and Approvers includes the following enhancements:
- Streamlined curriculum. The new course combines topics from three previous courses: UCSF Position Funding Entry and Updates, UCPath Position Basics and Funding Entry Concepts, and UCPath Basics and Navigation.
- Improved learner experience. The course is divided into 4 sections and 25 lesson topics. Learners can follow a prescribed learning path or use the course map to navigate to specific refresher topics.
- Detailed data entry scenarios. Learners are guided through data entry steps for 11 of the most common funding entry scenarios specific to UCSF faculty, staff, residents, and postdocs.
- Best practice adoption. The new coursework incorporates many of the best practices demonstrated in office hours including use of the Salary Cap/MCOP Funding worksheet without earnings codes, inserting funding changes between existing funding effective dated rows, and adding funding for additional pay.
As a reminder, training is required before Funding Entry Initiators and Funding Entry Approvers can be granted access and enter position funding in UCPath online. Completion of the new course satisfies the training requirement for new users.
To access the course, log into the UC Learning Center and search for “UCPath Funding Entry” in Find a Course. The Information for Funding Entry Initiators and Approvers page on the UCPath at UCSF website has been updated to reflect the new training offering.
