Coming in March: New Fluid User Interface for PeopleSoft Financial System

A new user experience is coming to UCSF’s PeopleSoft Financial System. In March, UCSF will upgrade to the PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface (UI), bringing a simplified and more intuitive look and feel to navigating within PeopleSoft. Implementing Fluid UI is part of a larger upgrade to PeopleSoft Financials and Supply Chain Management Image 39. This upgrade will align our financial system, including General Ledger (GL), Capital Asset Management (CAM), and the Research Administration System (RAS), with Oracle's supported system version ensuring continued and uninterrupted support. While the update brings exciting new features to navigating within PeopleSoft, users will experience no changes to general procedures for entering or approving financial transactions.

The Fluid UI enhances the user navigation experience in several ways:

  • A new Home Page provides visual tiles to quickly access the PeopleSoft components for your role.
  • Navigation Collections simplify menus into curated links for the screens you need to access most often.
  • A Navigation Bar (NavBar) gives you quick access from anywhere in the system to recently used links, your Favorites, and the “classic menu” to get to any screen.
  • “Approvals” and “Worklist” tiles notify you of actions needed across related modules for quick follow-up.
  • The Fluid UI works seamlessly across platforms and adapts to any device.

The target go-live date for the Fluid UI upgrade is March 21, 2022. Look for more details about the upgrade in future editions of the Controller’s Office Newsletter. Information about how to prepare for the upgrade will be shared in February.
