How to Add and Edit Forecast Events

Forecast Events are used to indicate those days or shifts on which a given circumstance or set of circumstances will affect business in a manner that would be replicated if the same conditions were repeated.

If a Forecast Event has already been entered and a change to the event needs to be made, you can edit it prior to the event's occurrence.

Important Notes

When you add or edit a Forecast Event, you do not need to display a specific shift date or time to add or edit a Forecast Event. However, selecting and displaying the day on which you wish to add the Forecast Event allows you to see the effect your changes have on the Predictive Census line.

Similarly, you do not need to select the shift date in question to display the Census Details for that shift to add or edit the forecast event. However, it can be useful to see the trends in the actual census and predictions when adding or changing the forecast event.

To display the Chart panel and Census Detail panel data:

  • Select the date range, day, and time for the desired shift
  • Select Display.

More information on this process is included in the View Census Data Job Aid referenced in the Related Items section at the end of this job aid.
