Edit the Schedule in the Timecard

Discrepancies from employees' scheduled hours can result in timecard exceptions or even Attendance infractions that managers need to resolve.

The ability to edit an employee’s shift start and end times directly from the timecard allows managers to remove exceptions easily, and in some cases proactively prevent exceptions from occurring.

Employees often work different hours from their regular schedule. For example, an employee might come to work late due to car problems, stay late to cover for a coworker who could not complete their shift, or leave their shift early due to illness or family emergency.

Schedule edits saved in the timecard are reflected in the Schedule Planner.

If the schedule edit violates an Informational or Warning schedule rule, the violation appears in the Schedule Planner and must be resolved there.

Managers can only update the shift start and end times with this feature. Managers cannot edit shift segments, breaks, or transfer employees from the timecard.

Note: Scheduling does not support historical edits and therefore, the timecard will not support editing the schedule in a signed off period.
