Review the top MyTime support resources to help every role complete timekeeping tasks accurately and efficiently.

To support the UCSF community in using MyTime—the University’s timekeeping and scheduling system—resources are available to assist employees, managers, timekeepers, and schedulers in completing critical tasks efficiently and accurately. During implementation, the MyTime project team developed tailored learning paths, training materials, and job aids to meet the needs of diverse roles across UCSF.

Below is a reminder of the most useful resources for your role in MyTime, with links to the corresponding webpages for more information.

Top Resources for Employees

Employees use MyTime to manage their work schedule, submit leave requests, and record time worked and time away. Training and job aids are available to help navigate the system and comply with UCSF policies.

  1. Employee Quick Start Guide

    Learn how to log into MyTime, access devices for clocking, and manage your schedule.

  2. Leave Balances and Time Off

    Review demonstration videos and the step-by-step guide to submit time off requests.

    UCPath continues to be the system of record for calculating most leave accruals and leave balances. You can view your balances in UCPath and view your balances in MyTime. See Understanding Leave Balances in MyTime and UCPath for differences between these systems.

    Access step-by-step instructions for common timekeeping tasks, such as approving your timecard and fixing missed punches.

Managers play a crucial role in overseeing employee schedules, approving timecards, and ensuring compliance with UCSF policies. The following tools help streamline managerial responsibilities in MyTime.
 

  1. People Manager Quick Start Guide

    Review timekeeping and scheduling responsibilities, tools for managing timecards and leave requests, and resources to help your team.

  2. Manager-Specific Job Aids

    Access guides for approving timecards, resolving exceptions, managing employee schedules, and reviewing accrual balances.

  3. Delegation Tools

    Assign access to a delegate and manage reporting relationships in MyTime.

  4. Pay Period Close Responsibilities

    Managers play a pivotal role in ensuring that timecards accurately reflect the hours worked and are free of pay-impacting exception errors.

  5. Timecard Adjustments

    If timecard errors are identified or if pay-impacting timecard exceptions (like a missed punch) were not resolved before the payroll processing cut-off, a timecard adjustment– also known as a historical timesheet correction – must be submitted to the Payroll Office.
